Lampedusa is an italian island, more close to Tunisia than Italy.Lampedusa has become a simbolic door for african immigrants that want to enter in Europe. Many of them have lost their life crossing the Mediterrean sea and their boats are in the boat cemetery, very close to the old port, under surveillance by Italian Army.
